Radium Fuel Pump Hanger Evo 8/9

The Radium Engineering fuel pump hanger allows the use of 1 or 2 aftermarket pumps in the stock Mitsubishi Evo 7-8-9 fuel tank.The machined assembly drops-in the factory fuel tank replacing the OEM hold-down flange. A single 8AN male pump feed port and 6AN male return port simplify aftermarket -AN hose plumbing. However the preassembled adapter fittings are compatible with the OEM fuel lines.

The custom designed stainless electrical studs easily handle the high current demand that compact bulkhead connectors lack. These serviceable connections are properly sealed and impervious to all standard and exotic fuels. The low profile design keeps all wiring tucked nicely underneath the OEM cover plate. Nonconductive acorn nuts are provided to prevent any accidental short circuits. Furthermore, the high quality in-tank wiring is insulated with chemically resistant ETFE. Electrical hardware is included for the fuel pump(s) and OEM level sender.

One major issue with the OEM EVO 7-8-9 fuel pump hanger is the restrictive return port and venturi jet pump. When using aftermarket high-flow fuel pumps, the OEM jet pump becomes too restrictive creating unwanted backpressure in the regulator return line causing excessive fuel rail pressure. The Radium Engineering fuel pump hanger includes a venturi jet pump with a new integrated pressure-relief valve to minimize back pressure. 

All returning fuel from the pressure regulator and crossover hose exit the jet pump keeping the OEM gas tank baffle full for starvation protection.

Single pump applications can reuse the OEM fuel pump controller wiring, but it is recommended to upgrade the OEM wiring as these high flow fuel pumps draw additional current requiring larger gauge wire. You can choose for single pump applications or for dual pump applications.

IMPORTANT: This fuel hanger eliminates the fine-micron in-tank fuel filter of the OEM fuel pump hanger. It is highly recommended to use an aftermarket fine-micron (less than 10 micron) fuel filter on the feed line. The Radium fuel hanger plumbing kit (detailed in Picture) is a good option.

DIY Fuel Pump Wiring Kit

This Do-It-Yourself wiring kit includes the necessary parts to construct a power wiring harness for one fuel pump. It uses the highest quality components to ensure proper operation in all conditions. The relay and fuse holder are sealed to allow installation in weather exposed areas if necessary. Aircraft grade TXL wiring is resistant to all chemicals and elevated temperatures. Raychem crimpless solder-based butt connectors make reliable wire connections easy and clean. Necessary ring terminals are included for connecting to an external Bosch 044 fuel pump as well.

Radium recommends a dedicated fuse and relay for each fuel pump. For this reason, order a wiring kit for EACH fuel pump.
